What We Believe
We believe the Bible is in the truest sense the very word of God, given by inspiration of God and therefore it is inerrant, authoritative and all sufficient, being the supreme and final word in all matters regarding salvation, faith and Christian behaviour.
Joshua 1:8; Jeremiah 23:28-29; Psalm 19:7-11; 119: 89, 105, 140, 160; Romans 15:4; 2Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:21
We believe that there is one true God, who eternally exits in three equal persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that He is the God of creation as well as the God of salvation.
Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 4:35-39; Isaiah 43:11, 45:5-23; 1Corinthians 8:4-6; Matthew 28:19; Luke 2:10, 11; 2Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:13-17; Revelation 1:4-6; 4:11
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.
Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Matthew 3:17; Luke 9:35; John 1:1-3, 14; 10: 30; 14:9; 17:1-5; 1Timothy 3:16
We believe that He came from heaven, was miraculously born of the virgin Mary, that He was the only one who lived a sinless life on earth yet died for our sins at Calvary’s cross where He fully and eternally paid the penalty for sin and completed the work of redemption. We believe that He was buried and rose again according to the scriptures. Of this great truth He gave indisputable evidence, appearing unto many, and accompanying with them for a period of forty days. After this, in the presence of credible witnesses, He ascending up to Heaven, where He is now enthroned at the Father’s right hand.
Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:26-33, 24:1-32; John 3:16, 6:38; Acts 1:3; 1Corinthians 15:3-9; Hebrews 7:26; 1Peter 3:18;
Revelation 1:18; 5: 6-14
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, is eternal and infinite. The Holy Spirit is the Author of Scripture and was active in creation, revelation, and enablement of Old Testament Saints. The Holy Spirit was sent on the day of Pentecost by the Father and the Son to take up His abode in believers. We further believe He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement, regenerates all believers, indwells all who are saved, baptises all believers into the Body of Christ, seals all believers until the day of redemption, bestows spiritual gifts upon the members of Christ’s Body according to His own will, and controls for guidance, power and sanctification those among the saved who are yielded to Him and subject to His will.
We believe that He never takes His departure from the church, nor from the feeblest of saints, but is ever present to testify of Christ, seeking to occupy believers with Himself and not with themselves nor with their experiences.
We believe that His abode in the world in this special sense will cease when Christ comes to receive His own at the completion of the church on earth.
John 16:8-13; Romans 8:9; 2Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18; 1John 2:20, 27
We believe that man was created by God in His own image and likeness, and did not “evolve” from some lower forms of life. Through disobedience to the commandment of God, he fell from his high estate and became a sinner in nature and by practice. Because of this he also became alienated from God and “dead in trespasses and sins”.
Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:1-7; Romans 3:9-19; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3; Colossians 1:21
We believe in the existence of a literal Heaven to gain as well as a literal Hell to avoid. We believe that the only way a sinner can be saved for Heaven and saved from Hell is to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord. Since we are all born into this world with a sinful nature we must be “born again” (born from above) by the Holy Spirit of God using the Word of God to bring conviction to our souls. There is absolutely nothing we can do to either merit or inherit the kingdom of God.
Isaiah 64:6, 7; Luke 16:23; 23:43; John 3:3-8, 16-18, 36; 14:1-3; Titus 3:4-7; 1Peter 1:23
We believe that Christians should be gathered unto the Name and person of the Lord Jesus Christ for public worship, praise and ministry of the Word of God and that the church has two specific ordinances which are to be observed by believers only.
These are the “Lord’s Supper”, to remember the Saviour and baptism by immersion, a onetime act following conversion to Christ.
(Salvation by the act of baptism and infant baptism are not taught in the Word of God).
Matthew 18:20, 28:19, 20; Acts 8:12, 36-38, 20:7; 1Corinthians 5:4, 11:23 – 32; Hebrews 13:13, 15
We believe in the Church Disciplinary Process consisting of three key elements: confrontation, repentance, and restoration.
Proverbs 22: 10-12; Matthew 18:15-18; 1Corinthians 5:9-13; 2Corinthians 2:5-11; 1Thessalonians 5:14
We believe that Christians are first to be separated wholly unto the Lord, and separated from worldly and sinful practices.
This church is opposed to all that is false and out of harmony with the truth of the Word of God, including ecumenism and other false movements. The church remains separate from apostasy and unbelief.
2 Corinthians 6:11-18; Ephesians 5:11; 2 Timothy 4:2-3; Titus 1:13, 3:10; 1Peter 1:15; 16; 1 John 4:1; 2 John 10,11; Jude 3.
We believe in fellowship with other Christians who are doctrinally sound and who believe according to the above faith statements. Although we do not wish to be sectarian, we do not accept the ecumenical unity of churches that is evident today. We believe this is compromising the Word of God and is expressly against Scripture.
Romans 16:17; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Ephesians 5:11; ; 1Timothy 6:3-5; 2 Thessalonians 3:6; Titus 3:10.
We believe in those whom God has accepted in the Beloved and sanctified by His Spirit will never totally nor finally fall away from the state of grace, but shall certainly persevere to the end; and though they may fall through neglect and temptation into sin, whereby they grieve the Spirit, impair their graces and comforts, bring reproach on the Church and temporal judgements on themselves, yet they shall be renewed again unto repentance and be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.
1 Samuel 2:9; Nehemiah 9:16-19; Psalm 31:23, 32:7,23,28-33, 38, 84:5-7, 89:30-33, 94:14, 97:10, 121:7, 125:1; Proverbs 2:8; Isaiah 40:30, 54:4-10; Jeremiah 32:38-42; Matthew 18:6, 12-14, 24:22-24; Luke 1:74, 22:32; John 3:36, 4:13, 5:24, 6:37-40, 51, 8:31, 10:4, 8, 27-29, 17:11, 15; Romans 6:1-4, 7:24-8:4, 28-39, 11:29, 14:14; 1 Corinthians 1:4-9, 3:15, 10:13; 2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5; Ephesians 1:11-14, 4:30; Philippians 1:6; Colossians 3:1-4; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Thessalonians 3:3-5; 2 Timothy 1:12, 4:18; Hebrews 3:14, 7:25, 10:14, 36-39, 13:5; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2 Peter 3:8; 1 John 2:19, 3:9, 5:4, 13, 18; Jude 1, 24.
We believe in the conscious and eternal punishment, after death, of the impenitent and unsaved. The spirits of those who are saved and born again, at death, go to be with Christ in Heaven. They are “absent from the body and present with the Lord”.
Their bodies are left behind until Christ’s second coming, when they will be raised from the dead, incorruptible, and reunited with their spirits and so be “forever with the Lord”. In like manner, the spirits of those who die out of Christ descend into Hell, their bodies being raised and reunited with their spirits at the “Great White Throne Judgement”, after which their eternal destiny will be confinement in the Lake of Fire.
Psalm 9:17; Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:42-49; Luke 16:19-31; Acts 7:59; 8:2; 1Corinthians 15:51-57; 2Corinthians 5:1-8; Philippians 1:23; 1Thessalonians 4:14; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8
We believe the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is very near. World events are pointing to His soon coming and even more important, the Bible teaches the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ as the next great event on God’s prophetic calendar.
John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; 1Thessalonians 4:16-18; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 10:37; James 5:8; Revelation 22:7, 12, 20
There are many other Biblical truths in which we believe and in summary, I say again, that “I believe in the whole Bible and not a Bible full of holes”. This may be a good time to ask yourself, “What do I believe”? Why do I believe the way I do”?
What proofs do I have to support my beliefs”? Am I willing to gamble my eternal destiny on what I believe”?
Please give this matter your most serious consideration.
